About Ulla Schlums
Dip.-Ing. Ulla Schlums was already enthusiastic about tailoring in her youth and trained as a dressmaker after graduating from high school. At the beginning of the 90s, she studied clothing technology, which included an exchange year in Manchester / UK. She worked as a development manager and buyer in the industry. After taking a break to have children, she returned to work as a vocational school teacher for the subjects of production and pattern design. Last school year, Ms Schlums was on a leave of absence and was able to realize her dream of working abroad.
In 2022, Ms. Decker and Ms. Schlums were able to publish the work "Fertigung Bekleidug" together with Ms. Heike Dressler at Europa Lehrmittelverlag.
Graduate engineer in clothing technology Ulla Schlums (*1970), already an enthusiastic hobby tailor in her youth, trained as a clothing tailor at Wilvorst Herrenmoden GmbH in Northeim after leaving school. In 1992, she studied clothing technology at the Albstadt-Sigmaringen University of Applied Sciences, specializing in product development/knitwear technology. This included two semesters at Manchester Metropolitan University (Hollings Faculty) in England.
After graduating, Ulla Schlums worked as an assistant and then as Junior Development Manager for Mens Lifestyle, Running and Special Make Ups at Puma International in Herzogenaurach. She then moved to mister+lady in Nuremberg as a junior buyer in the menswear department.
During her family break, Ulla Schlums focused on graphic design and worked freelance in this field. Since 2007, she has been employed as a specialist practice teacher at the municipal B5 fashion schools in Nuremberg, specializing in production technology and pattern construction.
