Sustainably creative with Vlieseline at the h+h 2024 in Cologne

Weinheim, Germany, 20 March 2024. Vlieseline, the manufacturer of interlinings, waddings and special products for creative handicraft, is going to present two biodegradable product novelties at the international trade fair for handicraft & hobby supplies (h+h Cologne), thus putting a focus on sustainability. The international audience at the h+h can experience the new products live in the course of the Picnic Collection specially designed for this fair. From 22 March to 24 March 2024, the Vlieseline experts will be looking forward to visitors to the company’s booth in Hall 11.3, Aisle D-001.

B 700 and B 710 – Biodegradable woven interlinings made of cotton

As the leading manufacturer of interlinings and wadding, Vlieseline is going to present the first 100% biodegradable fusible woven interlinings made of cotton at the h+h. “What is absolutely ground-breaking in this respect is the fact that thanks to its special composition of materials, the adhesive of the interlining degrades in the ground without leaving any traces of harmful substances,” says Per Henriksen, Head of Vlieseline.

The new products consist exclusively of natural raw materials and excel by environmentally friendly product properties, such as the energy-saving fusing at a fuse-line temperature of just 127° C, which is gentle to the outer fabric at the same time. The product novelty, which is available word-wide, and its biodegradability have been tested and certified by the Hohenstein Institute.

Vlieseline – Integrated commitment to sustainability

In addition to this, Vlieseline drives sustainability through the use of existing raw materials made of recycled PET bottles. A significant portion of Vlieseline’s products is based on the recycling of PET bottles. A product range made of 100 per cent of recycled polyester or of mixtures of this recycled material is part of the Vlieseline product portfolio.  This is how Vlieseline contributes to minimising the use of raw materials not coming from new, non-renewable sources.

Besides products made of recycled PET bottles, Vlieseline also relies on the use of regrowing raw materials, such as bamboo, soya, wool and cotton. In this way, Vlieseline demonstrates its commitment to innovation and sustainability in the textile industry. The company always strives to meet the creative requirements of its customers and reduce its environmental footprint at the same time.

Sustainable and creative with Vlieseline

Vlieseline’s new Picnic Collection combines the company’s extensive sustainability strategy with fresh designs and puts visitors to the fair in the middle of a sunny spring day spent outdoors. The collection shows trendy children’s wear, comfy blankets and pillows as well as a range of accessories that brighten up every picknick excursion into the country. The waddings, volume fleece and creative handicraft interlinings made by Vlieseline form the basis for both a premium-quality and sustainable product experience.
