Due to the high demand for needles with wear protection coating, SCHMETZ has added the Gold Topstitch Needle to its range.
Thanks to the wear protection coating with titanium nitride, which offers excellent resistance to abrasion and wear, the Gold Topstitch Needle has to be changed much less frequently than needles with a standard coating. As a result, it is the go-to choice for frequent sewers.
The needle’s special blade design also reduces the risk of needle breakage and skipped stitches. This makes it easy to handle even thick layers of material and multidirectional sewing projects, such as quilting and embroidery.
What’s more, the Gold Topstitch Needle has a significantly longer needle eye compared to other household sewing machine needles. It is 2 mm long in all needle sizes. The longer eye provides more room for the thread and reduces friction when sewing.
This means that two or even three threads at the same time and metallic threads can glide effortlessly through the eye and be handled gently without thread tearing. The extra-long eye is particularly beneficial for quilting and free motion quilting and also enables the use of decorative techniques, such as embroidery, decorative stitches and appliqué, with thicker threads, such as special-effect yarns or jeans thread. Of course, the large eye also makes threading easier.
Thanks to its slightly rounded point, the Gold Topstitch Needle can easily be used with a wide range of fabrics. The durable needle point creates precise stitches and clean results, while also preventing damage to the material.
