About Gaby Funke
I have been practicing handicrafts since I was five years old, and this passion has accompanied me throughout my life.
More than 21 years ago, I founded the "Kerpener Spinnstube" to preserve and keep alive traditional handicraft techniques such as spinning and tablet weaving, as well as knitting and crocheting.
For over two decades, I ran a brick-and-mortar handicraft shop and taught numerous courses.
I have not only observed the changes in retail, but have actively embraced them—ranging from personal consultations in the shop to WhatsApp groups, Facebook and Instagram, and even my own website.
Since my retirement in April last year, I now look back on the development of the industry with experience, openness, and appreciation.
