Vicuña Sensa

Vicuña Sensa
Sensational by Nature, Extraordinary by Touch

So extraordinary to the touch, the feeling could only be described as sensational; something truly out of this world. And so the name Vicuña Sensa was born, inspired by the quiet magic that happens the moment your hands first come into contact with one of the rarest fibers on earth.

For centuries, vicuña fiber has been treasured for its exceptional softness, warmth, and rarity. Native to the high plateaus of the Andes, vicuñas live in extreme conditions at altitudes of up to 16,404 Feet (5,000 meter).  This harsh environment encourages the growth of an extraordinarily fine and insulating coat, making vicuña one of the most precious natural fibers in existence. For this reason, it has often been called the “fiber of the gods.”

With Vicuña Sensa, we bring this remarkable fiber into a new context. By blending precious vicuña with ultrafine merino wool, we have created a yarn that preserves the elegance and softness of vicuña while making its beauty accessible to more knitters. The result is a beautifully balanced yarn that offers exceptional softness, lightness, with excelent stitch definition and beautiful drape.

The color palette of Vicuña Sensa is created by blending the natural cinnamon tones of vicuña fiber with white merino, allowing the yarn to develop warm, shades that give each color depth and natural elegance. Each ball carries the quiet luxury of the Andes — rare, refined, and deeply connected to nature.

The vicuña fiber used in this yarn is sourced in Peru and certified under CITES, ensuring strict protection of the species and full traceability. The ultrafine merino wool comes from Patagonia. The yarn is fully GOTS certified, guaranteeing high standards of environmental responsibility, animal welfare, and transparency throughout the supply chain.
