Sewing Box

We wish to spread the Japanese custom of taking great care of tools to people around the world, and we hope that the enjoyment of hand sewing can be enhanced for each individual.

This Sewing Box was produced in response to the desire of our customers to own a sewing set that is always at hand, and that can be treasured for years to come.

Needles for everyday use, and other carefully selected handcrafted Japanese items are included in these sets.

< Hiroshima Needle >
Back in the Edo period (1603-1868), the ruling Asano Clan of the Hiroshima Domain spread his production as piecework for low-ranking samurai to support themselves.
The main features of Tulip needles are their smooth fabric piercing and their flexibility.
We have more than 30 processes to make sure that each of our needles is safe and high quality.

< U-shaped Scissors produced in Banshu >
The Banshu region of Hyogo Prefecture, Japan, noted for its high-quality scissors and knives.
Historians say that this traditional local industry started in 1790.
Still today, skilled craftsmen make each piece by hand.

< Bamboo Rulers >
A traditional Japanese instrument for taking accurate measurements.
Bamboo grows straight and true, will not bend easily, is resistant to changes in temperature and himidity, and can be used efficiently for a long, long time.

< Paulownia Wood Box from Kyoto >
One feature of paulownia is that it naturally releases humidity, allowing items stored for a long period to breathe.

< Kimonomo Fabric Reborn >
The pincushions, scissor cases, needle threader grips and thread spools are all made from Kimono that are no longer being worn.
Silk Kimonomo fabric has been transformed into each unique hand sewing item in this set.
(Please look forward to opening your Sewing Box to see which beautiful pattern has been selected for you!)
