For years Janine Binder has been blogging on www.jetztkochtsie.com and Stefanie Gutzat on www.feierabendfrickeleien.com about knitting, sewing, crocheting and everything that makes the handicraft heart beat faster. Since 2017, both have been running the 14-day podcast www.frickelcast.com together, inspiring their listeners. Every year they organize the #paillettenperlenfrickelalong, a mixture of Sewalong and Knitalong, which is about the common handicraft and sequins, pearls and glitter on the handicrafts.

Sebastian Hoofs

Sebastian Hoofs was literally born with a fascination for fabrics and a talent for sewing. His great-grandmother and grandmother were already master tailors, his grandfather a master weaver. At the age of 29, he can already look back on 15 years of professional experience. Since 2015, he has been producing made-to-measure clothing in his Cologne studio and passing on his knowledge to hobby tailors and interested people through special courses.

Nienke van der Zwan, Stipstil: Addictive dotpainting on ceramic / Dot by dot! Dot style on ceramic

Nienke van der Zwan (based in The Netherlands) started dotpainting in 2003 after traveling in Australia for nearly one year. She was inspired by the ancient Aborigional art and after her travels she experimented in finding her own style and technic in dotpainting. For years she enjoyed this hobby besides her work in the non-profit-sector. Nienkes ideas to start her own business became bigger and in 2018 she quit her job to be able to work fulltime for Stipstijl. Since then she published the book called Stippen., which directly hit the Bestsellers top 60 in The Netherlands at number 16 and within two weeks the second edition was published. Nienke also produces materials that make dot painting easier and better. These items are sold via her own webshop but also widely through arts & crafts store in The Netherlands and Belgium. Her workshops are often sold out quickly, the products are very popular and on social media Nienke has many followers. The community of dot addicts is growing enormously.

She founded her business 5 years ago alongside her full-time job. This year she has changed to 100% self-employment. Her mission is to make sure that the visual language can be actively used again and thus leads to better cooperation, more focus and clarity and especially more fun and creativity.

Anna Schuster

Anna Schuster studied fashion design in Munich and focused on sustainability and alternative strategies in the fashion industry during her master's degree at the London College of Fashion. In London she worked as a fashion designer for Erdem and Jean Pierre Braganza and focused on concept development at Hugo Boss in the menswear sector. In 2019 she presented her sustainable fashion collection as a finalist in the 'Redress Design Award' in Hong Kong to bring various classic crafts back on the catwalk. Anna Schuster is currently working as a design researcher at the London College of Fashion and is working on interdisciplinary projects to make fashion and crafts more sustainable through innovative technologies.

Dominique Watral

Dominique Watral is a qualified fashion tailor, studied fashion design and has fulfilled a small dream with her own bridal fashion label called ""Brautkraut"". Fast-moving life and hecticness determines the everyday life and the clothing industry is dominated by "fast-fashion". Deceleration and calmness are the answer to this present problem. ""I create clothes that embody the spirit and joy of past decades in a new and unique way. Old and new materials are used to create unique pieces that can be combined with each other and that will still find their place in the wardrobe after the wedding. Brautkraut collections are inspired by the concept "from old to new" and holistic sustainability.

Inge Szoltysik-Sparrer: From a simple zipper to a fashion zipper
Inge Szoltysik Sparrer

In 1975 Inge Szoltysik-Sparrer began an apprenticeship as a tailor, which she completed with her master examination. Then she founded a fashion studio in Hagen and has already received several awards: 1999 - "Marketing Prize of the German Skilled Crafts" and 2010 - "Enterprise Prize NRW". She is the Federal Chairman of the Custom Tailoring Trade and a lecturer at the Dortmund Chamber of Skilled Crafts. As a juror she worked together with Guido Maria Kretschmar to find the most talented hobby sewer in Germany in the 2nd season of „Geschickt eingefädelt“.
