With just under five months to go before h+h cologne 2020, one thing is already certain: the success story of the International Trade Fair for Creative Handicraft & Hobby Supplies is set to continue when it returns to Cologne from 20 to 22 March 2020. Alongside the sector’s top German companies, a whole host of market participants from outside the country have already confirmed their attendance at the world’s most important trade fair for the textile handicrafts business. Once again, around 16,000 international trade visitors are anticipated, who have more to look forward to beyond the comprehensive range of products and services offered by the exhibiting companies.
That’s because a crucial factor in the fair’s continuing success is its first-class event programme, the principle aim of which is to provide the international specialised trade with important commercial stimulus and creative incentives to attract new business, promote sales and retain customers. The motto for the coming year is “Rock your success – success through creativity!”. Under this banner, high-profile experts will pick up on the sector’s trending topics and present tried-and-tested business strategies in the “My lovely living room” event space. The range of subjects covered will extend from good self-organisation and advice for using Instagram and Google Maps effectively to designing an optimal service offer as the key to success.
The event is set to open with a series of talks featuring Nina Schnitzenbaumer. The successful photographer and business woman has been coaching the elite of German creative talent for many years. Her “emotion-driven marketing” podcast shot straight to number 1 on the iTunes charts. Through her public seminars and online community, participants learn how to handle their own creativity and raise it to a higher level so that they can turn their own passion into a business. In this talk, she reveals how she started out, explains the best strategies and shows how others can reach their ideal customers effectively and make their dreams of running their own businesses a reality.
Increasing turnover through inspiring shop design
Gabriela Kaiser is convinced that the very design of your business premises is an important key to success. In her lecture “Shop concepts and interior decoration – ideas for creative, modern solutions,” she explains how to attract your target market into your shop and why bricks-and-mortar retailers need to offer their customers more of an incentive than just products arranged on shelves. She will include examples, giving trade visitors suggestions for inspiring ways they can present and decorate their own retail spaces.
“Do good and talk about it!” If you follow this advice and know how and where to reach your target groups, you have the best prospects for success. It sounds simple, but it’s not. What is the best way to communicate with your customers? What approach has the greatest chance of success? For 20 years, PR manager, editor and trainer Katrin Speer has been advising German and international companies and associations on the design of their corporate and product communications. Drawing on her wealth of experience, she will present the ten most important rules for sustainable customer communications to the audience of international trade visitors. What are the secrets of good customer service?
The quality of your customer service is also critical when it comes to success in the daily battle for customers – of this, Sarah Steiner, a graduate in communications design, is certain. As she explains knowledgeably: Excellent service helps you gain customer loyalty. In turn, customer loyalty protects your business when the economy weakens. It’s also the cheapest way to generate sales, and you can use it to expand and consolidate your market position. Steiner’s presentation at h+h cologne 2020 will focus on how good service works and what obstacles have to be overcome when planning a service offer.High-street retailers as local heroes on Google Maps
If used correctly, Google Maps can also be key to the success of bricks-and-mortar retailers. Under the heading “Become a local hero with Google My Business – 12 tips and tricks to get your business really rocking on Google Maps,” Sven Deutschländer explains how specialist retailers can successfully turn the global search engine to their advantage in the struggle to get customers’ attention. And he knows what he’s talking about, because Sven Deutschländer is a Managing Partner at Berlin’s dskom agency. Since 2002, he has been helping companies establish and grow their online visibility.
These are just some of the topics that will be addressed in the “My lovely living room” event space. The current talks programme with even more interesting lecture guests and experts can be found on the h+h cologne homepage under the “Events” menu. The offer will once again be rounded off by a trend fashion show put on by the members of Initiative Handarbeit (Handicraft Initiative), an exciting workshop programme, as well as numerous special activities with artists and various institutions.h+h cologne
